Natural head lice treatments, Mayonnaise treatment for head lice
Head lice can be cured using any number of very cheap and effective remedial measures at home. You only need to make sure that you follow them quickly and effectively otherwise lice have a tendency to spread rapidly and rampantly to all other members of your whole family or people you interact with. Make a concoction of equal parts mineral oil and vinegar and store this.
Apply to the scalp every night before going to bed for a week. This will kill all your lice as well as destroy any remaining lice eggs in your head as well. Although it is a smelly and sticky exercise, make sure you do it everyday.
If this does not work effectively or well, you can try to apply mayonnaise to your scalp. This is an excellent way of getting rid of lice quickly and effectively. Leave the mayonnaise on for at least a couple of hours for best results. It will successfully choke the lice and also not allow them to wander freely, thereby putting an end to the problem.
Another excellent measure to get rid of pests such as head lice, and for that matter, even body lice, is to add a few drops of tea tree oil to your regular shampoo and use it as you would any other time. Tea tree oil has anti fungal as well as anti bacterial properties which will kill the lice or any other living organism at once. A word of caution, however – do not use this product on children, as it can cause severe damage to the mucous membranes of the eyes even if used in small quantities. Children may not follow the instruction to keep their eyes tightly shut at all times, and the risk is simply too big to take. The same rule applies to the age old remedy of applying kerosene to the scalp – not with children.
