Then again, you may be told that the situation is minor and an over the counter treatment will be a good place to start. There are tons of various creams, lotions, and other options built to kill lice. Hopefully one of them can help. Even though they only live for a short period of time without blood, it’s still a good preventative measure.

Make sure you wash bed linens, comforters, pillows, and even clothing that was worn in hot water. You might even want to go as far as vacuuming curtains, furniture, and anything else you feel necessary. Oh, and those hair items like brushes comes and barrettes should be soaked in rubbing alcohol or a combination of hot water and baking soda.

In the end its all about taking the appropriate actions to not only rid yourself of head lice, but kill lice once and for all. With lice, it’s better to go overboard and play it safe, then to give them a chance to come back. Lice can be an extremely frustrating nuissance which come back time and time again, unless take care of properly.
