How to Remove Lice Nits is an Effort That Requires Patience
The idea of head lice infesting your child or even yourself is enough to make one upset. To make matters worse however, the problem of head louse nit removal is one that needs patience to get every last egg.
Even if the eggs have been killed, leaving even 1 that isn’t completely dead can result in re-infestation in a matter of weeks. To make it more interesting, if you don’t do a good job with your head louse and nit removal treatment, you child may not be admitted back into school.
Many schools have regular inspections to limit louse outbreaks. Once your child has been identified, before returning to school, you need to either obtain a note from a medical doctor that they’re infestation free or have them report to the school health nurse for re-evaluation.
So even if all nits have been killed, they’re assumed to be alive and your child won’t be allowed back into classes. So the question of how to get rid of nits is an important one to consider. The best way to rid yourself of nits is to loosen them with an oily product or lice killing shampoo then follow up with a thorough and careful combing using a close or fine tooth comb. These are especially made to effectively remove nits from hair.
You do however need to be careful and make certain that you work through each section of hair to remove all nits.
Nits are eggs and the best thing to do with removed eggs is to place them in a container with an antiseptic solution. Alcohol works fine for this purpose.
