There are several ways to get rid of pubic lice. These tiny insects are also known as crab louse, crab lice and Phirus pubis and survive by attaching themselves to the human body and feeding off of its blood at regular intervals. Infections most commonly occur when close contact between a carrier and another individual has been made, allowing the parasites to attach themselves to the hair and thus infest another person. While it has been speculated that there are other ways other than sexual contact for this to occur, the most frequent way of spreading is indeed through close, and usually intimate, contact. You can also catch them by using towels and clothes that are already infested, as the prolonged and usually very close contact will also increase the chances of you catching the disease. Pubic lice are known to live for between twenty and twenty seven days, from the moment the egg hatches, through the growth stage and finally as a fully pledged male or female parasite.

Â

To get rid of pubic lice you must be able to identify the infestation via recognizing its symptoms. You will almost certainly suffer from an intense and very frequent itching sensation in the genital region of the body, and most infestations will see a change in the color of the affected skin as gray spots develop. The itching is caused by the actual saliva of the lice, and is powerful enough to continue having an affect for up to ten days after you have removed the infection itself. Beware that almost any part of the body can suffer from lice, and while it may start in the pubic region if you do not get rid of pubic lice as fast and as efficiently as possible, they can quickly spread to other parts of the body. Men are more at risk of an infestation spreading due to the higher amount of hair on their bodies, resulting in armpits, stomachs, legs and any other hairy part becoming at risk. Because of this, it is very important to invest in a good louse removing shampoo or cream, or even trying out a different treatment process. The quicker you get rid of the infestation the less complicated it will become, and the less likely you will spread it to your friends and family. You can buy products from many different kinds of places, but try and find a quality and highly recognized brand which you know and trust. You can search for various products online and by looking at internet sources which may give you the information you need.

Removing hair is the first step in solving the problem, but the
mistake many people make is to not use topical cream or solution to
kill any remaining lice. While you will get rid of the majority by
removing hair, it does not guarentee that the infestation will not
    come back.
