How to get rid of head lice from hair?

Trying to get rid of head lice can be a nightmare to deal with due to their alarmingly quick rate of multiplication. Apart from multiplying too rapidly to control, head lice also have the annoying habit to move on to other members of the family with ease. So if one person in the house is affected with head lice, it is fairly common for the whole household to get affected as well. There are some really easy and very cheap methods you can use to get rid of lice from your hair. The most widely recommended way to get rid of head lice is mayonnaise lice treatment; not only is this most widely recommended one but it is also the best one. To begin with, apply a thick layer of mayonnaise to your scalp. Spread the mayonnaise in the same way as you would apply hair oil only make sure that you apply it lavishly. You will need to leave it in your hair for about an hour and then wash it off with your regular shampoo. If you are using a mild shampoo like a baby shampoo, then you may need to switch to something stronger. The reason for this is that mayonnaise has oil and eggs in it and this may not be easily washed off with a regular mild shampoo or soap. If you can, you should also use a sulfur based shampoo to remove lice from your hair. However, using mayonnaise lice treatment to kill head lice is not the only method you should bank on.

To get rid of head lice naturally from your hair you can add a few drops of tea tree oil to your daily-usage shampoo and use it as you normally would. Remember to shake up the bottle well so that the oil mixes with the shampoo completely. Tea tree oil is a very strong anti-septic as well as an anti fungal oil which will instantly kill the lice. Please remember that this product is too strong to be used on children who are less than three years old. This is because it is so strong that the delicate membranes of their eyes can get damaged with the oil, no matter how small the quantity used. A good alternative to tea tree oil is also eucalyptus oil. This can be used in a similar fashion, mixed with your regular usage shampoo. Keep in mind that for a while at least, you will have to wash your hair everyday. This is because lice will lay eggs in your hair. So while one usage of the oil and shampoo mix can get rid of the present bunch of lice, the eggs will hatch and you will get infested again. So try to follow this routine for at least two weeks.
