Age spots – tips and hints on how to get rid of them

All of these remedies take several weeks to work. There is no quick fix solution. Try the remedies for 2 months and if nothing has improved try an alternative remedy. A remedy that works well on one person doesn’t necessarily work well on another.

Dab on fresh lemon juice at least twice a day. Use a cotton bud if age spots are small. Lemon juice can be quite drying to the skin so keep it off the undamaged areas.

Use a cotton bud and apply Vitamin E that is found inside capsules. Similarly cod liver oil can be dabbed on.

Internally you can take a selenium supplement plus ginseng, dandelion, licorice, gotu kola and sarsaparilla. Ask your natural health care professional for amounts that suit your particular needs.

Take green papaya enzyme capsules. For quantities refer to the packaging.

Apply the juice of fresh cranberries onto the spots at night time. Let it dry on the skin and wash off next morning.

Take Vitamin E, 500 units per day. At the same time squish some of the capsule contents onto your age spots.

Mix together equal parts of onion juice and apple cider vinegar. Apply to the spots daily.

Sprinkle flax seed (linseed) on your cereal each morning. If possible use it in your baking and bread making too. Apply flax seed oil to your age spots.

Apply fresh aloe vera gel to the spots twice daily.

Mix together 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and one teaspoon of fresh orange juice. Apply tot he spots twice daily.

Mix together one tablespoon each of sour cream, yoghurt, and ground oats (oatmeal) plus 3 – 4 drops of lemon juice. apply to the skin. Leave on for 10 minutes and then wash off.

Apply water melon peel to the affected areas.

Cut up small pieces of horse radish, soak them in warmed milk for a few minutes and apply to the spots.

Please note the early stages of skin cancer can be mistaken for age spots. If in any doubt whatsoever about your skin blemish you must consult your doctor to get it checked out properly.
